Layout redesign. Free parking announcement
I’ve been to a supermarket recently and found this announcement:
It is written in two languages?— Spanish and Catalan. What it says is that the clients of the supermarket?Mercadona can get free parking.
Same in English:
The problem with the announcement is that it’s unreadable.
People who are looking for a?free parking information won’t find it?— because to understand that it’s about parking you need to come and start reading it.
People who are just passing by wouldn’t bother to read it. That’s unless they are very bored and their phone ran out of battery.
Let’s improve it. First, remove all the styles and carefully distribute the?information:
The text in red is redundant. Obviously if you stay for 2 hours it means you need more time than 1 hour. Remove it.
The norms of use aren’t clear. How can you show your purchase receipt on the step 2 if you go to the cashier on the step 3? There’s probably an explanation, but for the sake of simplicity I’ll rewrite it the way I know how it works:
Now let’s add contrast where it’s possible?— to make the announcement more visible from afar and to improve aesthetics. The icon helps to make it more recognizable:
Final touch?— let’s make it in Mercadona’s style. So people would know right away that this announcement is connected to this supermarket:
I translated it back to Spanish. Even if you don’t know the language, you will more or less understand the main point.
