Lawyers: This Simple Shift Transforms Your Business Development Game

We see so many lawyers struggle with business development.

And for many it’s because they don’t want to make other people feel uncomfortable, or they themselves want to avoid coming across as pushy, self-serving, or too aggressive. So they avoid it.

Or they tout their credentials and expertise, turning into a Me Monster.

What they don’t realize is that they’re focusing on themselves - what makes them uncomfortable or what makes them special.

But business development is not about you - it’s about your prospects and clients. 

When you shift from a focus on yourself to a focus on others, you can get out of the mindset of "selling" and into the mindset of "serving." Start asking yourself: "How can I be more helpful to my clients? What challenges do my clients experience, for which they do not yet have good solutions? What could make their experience of working with me even more valuable? What can I offer to my clients that other lawyers do not?"

Making just this small shift will help you feel more comfortable with business development and approach it more confidently and effectively.
