LAWYERS: EATING THE FROG IS A SECRET TO REDUCE STRESS

Don't forget that April is Stress Awareness Month

WALTER COULDN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT

Walter worked in a small firm and was feeling stressed out and overwhelmed.?

He felt the constant pressure to be a great lawyer, never make mistakes, and always be on call for his clients.

His stress caused him to be restless throughout the night, and he woke up in the middle of the night with obsessive worry that he could not control.?

Walter's overwhelming stress took a toll on his mental and. physical health.

EATING THE FROG

Walter heard about me, and after he hired me, I began to coach him on organizing his practice and each day.?

We began to meet on Zoom twice each week and wonderful things began to happen in Walter's practice.

I taught Walter about the concept of eating the frog each day.

I said,?

"Walter, tackle the most difficult task in your practice each day first thing.

This habit will help you start your day accomplishing or making a dent in the most demanding task in your practice."

Eating his frog first thing, Walter began to clock more billable hours.

Walter began to feel less stressed and he became much more productive. Walter learned how to overcome his obsession with worry.?

HOW WALTER'S LIFE CHANGED?

By lowering his stress level, Walter's life improved. He slept better and stopped being grumpy at home with his wife and children.?

I helped him begin laughing at home, and he stopped taking himself so seriously.


In our work together, Walter learned:

? How to identify his most important tasks

? How to break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable tasks

? How to create a daily schedule that allowed him to tackle his most important tasks first
