This Lawyer's Content Exploded Her Firm's Growth. Here's Why.

Tyler Chou is a Lawyer for Creators, a unique niche that caught my attention on LinkedIn. She started posting on the business platform in May 2024 and scaled her YouTube channel to over 36,000 subscribers. She was invited to countless speaking engagements like VidSummit and MIT Summit and she made the Top 24 Knowledge Creators List 2024. Besides being in a unique niche, why are thousands attracted to Tyler’s content? Let’s break down WHY her content is so appealing.


—> Storytelling

Tyler’s biggest asset, which makes her content stand out, even from LinkedIn influencers, is her ability to tell a good story. Her posts are snippets of her thoughts, opinions, and her life. She’s not trying to teach you how to be a lawyer or protect your content - she tells stories.

When she does share information about her industry, she does so with uncommon facts about the industry. She’s not repeating the same information that other lawyers talk about. And, of course, she builds a story around it.

For example, at the most basic level, this post (as seen below) is teaching us about “Fair Use.” She’s showing us a conversation she started in the Instagram comments about legally using another creator’s video without the original creator’s permission. She could have easily written a post saying, “Here are 5 things to look out for when claiming Fair Use.” Yawn. Boring. Tyler would never. She gets people interested in her industry with storytelling.

Tyler shares her opinions about legal disputes happening among creators. Few lawyers are sharing their views about creators’ legal battles - and even fewer are sharing it on LinkedIn. Creators have massive followings - talking about them is bound to get eyeballs. People love gossiping about big creators. People love sharing their opinions about creators. She takes a stance and shares her perspective. A lot of people posting online are scared to take a stance or share opinions. Tyler understands that her thoughts and beliefs are PART of her brand.

Lawyers rarely share personal stories about their lives or the ups and downs of running a business. Tyler pulls the curtain back and lets people in on her journey - making her more relatable. In a recent post, she talks about being offered a job. It got over 2000 likes on LinkedIn.

Tyler posts about her invitations to events and speaking engagements, further establishing herself as a leader in her space. The recognition in her space further tells her audience that she is, in fact, awesome. And no one can deny that. TOO many people from a variety of establishments are inviting her to speak.
