Do you know that lions, the most dangerous animals in the jungle, only succeed in a quarter of their hunting attempts? This means they fail in 75% of their attempts and succeed in only 25% of them.
Despite this small percentage shared by most predators, they don't despair in their pursuit and hunting attempts. The main reason is their "understanding" of the Law of Wasted Efforts, which is instinctively built into animals.
- Half the eggs of fish are eaten...
- Half the baby bears die before puberty...
- Half of the seeds sown into the soil do not grow…
- Most of the world's rains fall into the ocean…
- Most of the seeds of trees are eaten by birds.
Scientists have found that animals, trees and other forces of nature are more receptive to the law of wasted efforts. While other forms of life accept non-successful attempts as the law of wasted effort, only human beings think that the lack of success in a few attempts is failure.
The truth is that we only fail when we stop trying. People who understood this and kept trying are the ones that eventually made it to the top in their profession. Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Sir James Dyson, Henry Ford, Walt Disney and all other successful people have failed multiple times before becoming successful.
Success doesn't mean a life free of pitfalls and falls; rather, it means walking over your mistakes and going beyond every stage where your efforts were wasted.
Success means learning from every experience and applying that learning to improve your chances of winning next time. It means you never stop trying new ways of doing something, until you succeed.
In summary, never stop trying! That's what resilience is all about, and only the resilient ever achieve success and greatness!
If there is one secret mantra for success, it will simply be “continue”.
