The Law of Three

The Law of Three

Brian Tracy says no matter how many tasks you do, three of those tasks account for 90% of your value.

If you could only do one thing on your list ALL day long, which one task would have the greatest positive impact on your business? Repeat for the second and third.

Those three tasks are my big 3.

Everything else is secondary. Everything else can be done by someone else, done later, or not at all.

Then you focus on the 3.

If you can do that until it becomes a habit, you're gonna conquer the world.

This hits home

  1. Recently, I decided to hack up my business and redraft my plan into one sentence: Get on podcasts and sell courses.
  2. Then, I started reading 10X is Easier Than 2X by Dan Sullivan & Ben Hardy last night - the book the universe screamed at me to read until it was mailed to me with a sampler of expensive rum and a book club to go with it courtesy of Zach Messler . It immediately confirmed for me that doing less is more. And I'm only about 20 pages in lol. I am meant to pour my focus into one thing at a time rather than a million different things at once.
  3. And of course, this is the clip I clicked on tonight. I even tried another link before this but that no longer worked. Fascinating : ) I was meant to see this tonight. A lot of synchronicity around a more simple model.

And 3 is great, I do this exercise daily (but could be doing a better job of it) but right now...

I only care about one thing

Building a kickass course that significantly improves the lives of everyone who interacts with it, me, and my community.

That's where I'm putting ALL of my free creative energy right now.

But here's an important insight

I really enjoy the process of game development through DnD. I'm currently publishing a game called Symbiotes! and working on a new pirate-themed campaign. And I'm channeling that creative process into my work.

I passively come up with ideas for my campaign when I'm in theta, either doing dishes, driving the car, or going for a run. Then I sit down to organize my thoughts and update the rules based on those ideas. I round up some friends to play and take notes and get feedback from players. Then I repeat the process.

It helps me iterate fast and rapidly improve the experience of the game.

I'm now deploying this same process for my new course. I'm creating content and putting it in front of people as fast as I can. I'm watching how they engage with the content, looking for the outcomes it produces, and capturing the questions that come up in the process.

Recording these calls and going back to take notes has been incredibly insightful!

Everything feels right

I feel so clear, focused, and aligned. But not only that, the Universe keeps throwing signs at me left and right to make sure I know I'm right on track : )

btw...and this is random but I need to get it off my chest - how come everyone I talk to who's traveling is going to Japan right now? Seriously, I know a LOT of ppl either going to Japan, who are there now, or just got back. Idk what to do with that. I'm experiencing an unnecessary amount of synchronicities around Japan. But I'm personally not going so, I'm sorry universe, I don't know what to do with that lol - anyone else got Japan on their mind lately?
