Law of Nature Serves a Plateful of Grace
Reality (as opposed to illusion) is simply – fact. It can be dressed up but at the core, it remains what it is. Illusion is also what is it – a mirage. ?
However, both, reality and illusion albeit opposites, must bow to one master – the Law of Nature (Dhamma). In this piece you will see how.
In business, as in life there is art and there are forgeries. Art is driven by the soul. It is compassionate, empathic and can only be felt. It can never be expressed. Any expression of true art is at best, a mere attempt. It is above applause. It is divine.
?
Forgeries are simply imitators. They need dressing up and still, under an ocean of make-up, deep down inside, they remain what they always were – a shell hiding a void. Empty.
?
This sets the tone for a tale unlike any other. The Story of Sandip Gupta.
?
The journey of a soul charged with a unique task, a mission – to share humanity’s chalice of pain. To carry the cross for the feeble. To walk the minefield of strife and of course to love every Judas life brings on his path. He has no choice. This is the mission. This is the crown.
He is unaware of it. In fact, this is the beauty of this tale – his unawareness.

Leaving his homeland and family in India, he set foot in Hong Kong through an opportunity that he will always be grateful for. Fate worked though the hands of a man who became his employer, then his closest friend and eventually a trusted business partner – the ever impressive and astute Sundeep Sekhri – a good soul and a man wiser beyond his years. ?
?
Fate picked Sandip’s mission – to feed the hungry.
His first successful venture was to be the life-blood of Hong Kong’s celebrated Bombay Dreams – which till date transcends every culture, every class, every taste. It is the very definition of culinary excellence served with the home-style attendance, beyond words.
From thereon began an upward, relentless climb to the pinnace of industry excellence.
?
On the way life flung onto his path storms of varied severities. They included; unfriendly market forces, bad tempers, attitudes from staff and customers, cultural sensitivities, deception from friend and foe alike, insatiable greed from unscrupulous suppliers, fear of uncertainty, unrealistic challenges, accidents and above all – the task to fit in what seems like 'a year's work' in every 24-hr day.
?
In many ways, a 'ship alone in the night', his only warmth came from ONE lighthouse.
?
The fight to succeed against all odds soon became the fertile soil – the oasis – that many from far off lands came to quench their thirst. Through this servant, God was feeding his people, gladdening their hearts, filling their lives with joy.
?
With no time to smell the flowers, the worker stayed steadfast at the mill with a dream in his heart and a belief in the Voice that every knee shall bend before.
?
His work saw Dining Concepts grow into a brand that defied imagination. It grew beyond belief in no small measure, due to this unsung soldier, content to give more than his best.
?
The chain of restaurants grew fast and became synonymous with culinary excellence – a bench mark of unparalleled hospitality. It was eventually purchased by a Mainland Chinese company under undisclosed terms and conditions but there was something that never changed hands. It was unpurchasable – the unshakable belief of two hearts that dreamed the same dream.
?
Today, the melody goes on, albeit with a softer tune. The little soldier is still at the grind mill. Older and wiser. With the same conviction he serves every plate with grace and humility. Every amazed customer enjoying the unbeatable value that only his competitive chain of restaurants offer.

True art is rare. It will always have a buyer. Yes, there will be famine and plenty, but an apostle will survive as God only gives his angels as much as much as they can carry and no more.
?
Yes, there are times, when the sun is unbearably hot, the pain is too much, the mocking and jeering force the tears to roll down from the cross and onto the sizzling stone below. The temptation to whisper – Oh Lord my God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me – is too great. In those moments of grief, the Dove of Hope appears to signal the eternal promise to all mankind.
?
It is like that parable of the Fishermen who woke up Jesus to calm the storm.
“You see and you believe. Blessed are those who do not see and yet believe.†?
?
Sandip Gupta’s leap of faith cannot go unrewarded. His decades of service that stemmed from his love for the team, the customer, the partners; can only bear fruit because of the source from which it flows. How can it be any other way. ?It is the Law of Nature. The eternal Dhamma. What seed you plant only that type of fruit will the tree yield.
?
To those who give, more will be given. To those who take away, everything they have will be taken away. ?
