Law is the King of Kings!

If you are rich and powerful, then law is optional. This message was humor on social and mainstream media in last few days. But nobody could evade the long arm of the law permanently. Perhaps, this is happening in Porsche incident too.

Hit and run are happening everywhere every day. Few incidents are unreported. Few are compromised and settled. Few are exaggerated. Few are manipulated. Few remain sine die for years. Few become inspiration for film story. And few are the subject matter of media trial. This vicious cycle will continue.

In Pune Porsche accident, there are wild allegations of high-handedness, corruption, bribery, unfair treatment to victim relatives, monthly extortion aka hafta vasooli from pubs, many police officials being partner in pub businesses, pizza, burger, same day bail and 300 words essay and what not.

But suddenly things have changed. Based on the media reports and television interview of Commissioner of Police of Pune City, investigations are continuing at lightning speed now.

• Bail of the juvenile has been cancelled and he has been sent in the custody.
• Father of the juvenile has been arrested and produced before the Pune Court and is in custody.
• Media recalled underworld connections and previous police files. Grandfather of the juvenile has been arrested for other reasons like forcing driver to give concocted statement to police etc. and abducting the driver for illegal reasons. House of accused is being searched and mobile handset is reportedly recovered.
• Politicians and media acted as watchdog and reported every possible information. Deputy Chief Minister (Mr. Devendra) assured free and fair investigations without any political interferences and even warned to terminate the services of errant pizza delivery police officials.
• CP issued clarifications about number of F.I.R. and dilemma about section 304 and 304A in the said F.I.R.'s.
• Investigation officers of the Yerwada Police Station Pune are suspended now for dereliction on duties etc. Suspension of Rahul Jagadale and Vishwanath Todkari is strong message to one and all. Surely, it is message to officials play at the hands of pubs, bars, liquor shops, hotels, hukka bars, etc. Accident investigations are now transferred to Crime Branch Pune Police under the supervision of seniors.
• Pub owners and workers therein are protesting against arbitrary crackdown against them. Who will pay Our Loan EMI is the placard in the hands of one such employee. Who will pay our old parents medical bill- says another.
• Few people large are "NOW" complaining about older complaints like land grabbing. Few parents are "NOW" talking about ordeal of their child while studying in the school etc.

These events are slap in the face of those who were thinking that law is at the mercy of rich and powerful. Yes, sometimes, it may look like so, but it is not always. Manipulated things can't be the law of the land. Law of the land is well defined and makes no differentiation and offers parity and equality before the law. And there are many litigants who sacrifice their lives, families, estates and everything for getting order of Justice. Perhaps, they have a hope that Law is the King of Kings. And this hope must never die, and this is the only reason for this write-up.

Manipulators, whether retired or serving, managing directors, vigilance officials, prosecutors, judicial officials including few J's, investigators, rich or powerful, politicians, industrialists, builders or whosoever, if you think you will get away with the long arm of the Law, perhaps reading each word of this article twice is the only option. Chalta Hai - Nahi Chalega.
