The Law of the Crab

There was a crab and he was like any other crab in the ocean. For the story's sake let's call him "Jim". Jim, like I mentioned earlier is no different than any other crab perhaps except for that he is impatient, but we will hit on that later. Jim was wandering the ocean floor looking for food and he came across this structure that had a lot food (a crab trap). See, Jim had no clue this was a device designed to capture him, but I'm going to take a step back and explain to you the design of a crab trap, that maybe can give you a spoiler on what the law of the crab is.
A crab trap is essentially a large rectangular box (cage) with two holes on it, both are wide gaping holes to allow the crabs into the cage. The holes reside on the largest and most flat sides of the cage, so when it hits the ground it can lay flat and have 1 hole blocked by the sea floor and have the other one on top of the cage open and inviting crab's like Jim in for a treat. This way the manner of which fishermen bait the cage is irrelevant as well as how they cast it off into Jim's home.
So Jim approaches the cage and enters it, no trap door closes or anything, so Jim assumes it is a safe place to enjoy this bountiful feast. Jim releases hormones that invites other crabs, and his friends to this feast because he doesn't want them to go hungry. When Jim's friends arrive it doesn't take much time for all of them to finish the food. Now, Jim and his friends are just hanging out and eventually Jim starts to get impatient.
Now, see Jim has always been this way, and his friends have gotten too comfortable in this cage for him to enjoy it anymore. Jim starts to swim towards the hole in the top of the cage and is gently pulled back down by his friends. They convince him, for a short while that this place is safe and he must stay. He gets bored of that story and makes a break for it again. His friends pull him back down. This continues for about 6 times. Jim's friends don't want Jim to leave because they are comfortable where they are at, and are afraid of Jim finding more food elsewhere instead of them, so they will stop at nothing to try and keep Jim where they thin he belongs.
Jim makes his final break for the hole and his friends grab him, yank him down, tear him limb from limb, and eat him. Jim died trying to find more food for the same people who killed him. Jim died trying to leave his comfort zone and he died trying to set himself apart from the herd.
The Law of the Crab is simple, crab's captured do not need any form of ruse they only need themselves to be captured. It is a common understanding among crab fishermen. They know these two open holes will catch a lot of crabs, because crabs won't let other crabs leave. The fishermen always find dead crabs in the cages, not because they starved waiting to be captured, but because they killed one another by making sure not one crab stood out.
Jim can teach us all something very important. It is this: Don't go out of your way to help people who truly don't want the best for you, Don't surround yourself with people who want you to stay in your comfort zone, Don't invite people who won't support you in your success to your success, Don't be afraid to fight for what you believe to be right. But most of all, it is better to die reaching for something better, than to sit around waiting for something to kill you. Thanks
