LaunchNET Supports Pet Care Business

Savannah Drdek , a Baldwin Wallace University alum, combined her entrepreneurial spirit and love for animals to create a full-service pet care business. One of the largest pet sitting businesses in the Cleveland area, Social Paws LLC was recognized as one of the best pet related businesses by Cleveland Scene Magazine (Euclid Media) in 2022.?

The Vision

Feeling unfulfilled in her post-grad positions, Drdek says she “took a chance to invest in myself and ideas” early in 2018. That chance would soon become Social Paws. With its team of well-trained and dedicated professionals, Social Paws promotes the responsible socialization of dogs (and their humans!). In addition to dog walking and sitting services, Social Paws raises funds and awareness for local animal rescues while bringing the Cleveland pet community fun and unique experiences. Funds from all Social Paws events are donated to local rescues, allowing attendees to help dogs in need while having fun with their pets and socializing with others.?

The Services

Social Paws offers a range of services from 20-minute walks to hourly hangouts and overnight sitting. To meet the unique needs of clients, Social Paws also offers personalized services and customizable packages.?

Staying Inspired

Drdek says that she’s always looking for ways to challenge herself and grow, and entrepreneurship gives her the freedom to do just that. “Being able to look at the business and say, 'I built that' is one of the most rewarding feelings.”

So Many Rewarding Experiences

Among the many rewarding moments throughout her entrepreneurial journey, Drdek notes that one of the most rewarding experiences has been hosting fundraiser events through which Social Paws has raised over $60,000, which has been distributed over the past four years to local animal rescues. And, of course, “Getting to work with these wonderful dogs every day is the most rewarding experience.”

Growing with LaunchNET

A Burton D. Morgan Foundation Morgan Startup Grant recipient, Drdek is utilizing her grant funds to expand Social Paws. Currently based on the West side of Cleveland, Drdek is working to expand to the surrounding areas of Avon, Strongsville, and Shaker Heights.

From Drdek’s initial visit with LaunchNET in 2018 to her recent reconnection, Drdek notes that LaunchNET has been an amazing support. “Without LaunchNET, I don't think I would have had the guts to start my business in the first place.”
