The Vision

pigybak is a neighborhood home contractor matching platform providing users with sustainable, efficient, and collaborative ways to meet their home service needs. Greathouse created a venture that cares about bettering society through business, designing her platform to use geofenced smart scheduling to save everyone time, money, and resources.

Getting Inspired

When asked about her inspiration for Pigybak, Greathouse notes “I had the best home services experience–just kidding–it was awful, just like every other homeowner. And being a supply chain consultant, I saw the opportunity to optimize and automate to help improve for everyone.” Greathouse hopes that Pigybak will become the go-to group home buying platform.

As a homeowner user, Pigybak notifies you when contractors are in your area, allowing you to team up with your neighbors to access tiered pricing options and exclusive deals (letting you piggyback off your neighbors…get it??). Pigybak users can post service requests, receive quotes through a text-like interface, and schedule contractors. Pigybak can also combine your home service wishlist with your neighbors’ so that you can take a hands-off approach to collaborating. And if that’s not enough, when you piggyback off your neighbors, contractors only have to make one trip, allowing Pigybak users to contribute to creating a greener environment by cutting down on emissions!

Contractors who use Pigybak are reliably connected with local jobs, and Pigybak notifies neighbors about your services before you’ve even completed a job. Growing With LaunchNET

A Burton D. Morgan Foundation Morgan Startup Grant recipient, Greathouse is utilizing her LaunchNET funds to cover Pigybak’s cyber insurance, which increases in cost with the growth of Pigybak’s user base and is critical to protecting Greathouse’s venture and staying compliant to the app store.?

Greathouse says that having the opportunity to mentor young entrepreneurs through LaunchNET has also helped her in her own entrepreneurial work. “It's refreshing to be surrounded by forward-focused problem solvers who believe in a better world and believe in themselves.”
