Launching The Plenty Compton Farm: Quick Q&A With Arvind Chari, Director Of Operations

Plenty: You’ve seen many iterations of Plenty’s technology, the culmination of which is live in our Compton Farm. What has surprised you the most about its evolution over time??

Arvind: Plenty is a unique place to work because of how many experts from different fields work together. Meeting with everyone from a plant science expert, to a lighting engineer, to an automation expert on a daily basis is super exciting but can also make things overly complex. Fortunately, at Plenty it has resulted in a cross-pollination of ideas that has accelerated our progress to allow us to get to where we are today.?

Plenty: What have been the most exciting moments of opening the Compton Plenty farm??

Arvind: I remember seeing the first packed product coming off the Compton packaging line and feeling a level of excitement that all the work of designing and building this facility had resulted in a real, tangible product. Of course it also helps that it tasted and looked amazing!?

Plenty: What excites you the most about Plenty’s technology???

Arvind: Plenty has a unique opportunity to use data in a way never before used in farming. We control every aspect of the plant experience, and then correlate that to how the plant grows. This has already allowed Plenty to realize yield and taste gains at a rate that is not possible in the field.
