I'm happy to announce that New Mountain Investigative Services is open for business!!

My passion is interviewing. I've spent the majority of my professional life handling difficult communications, and I've put all that experience to work in building this business. I started my career working with severely emotionally disturbed youth, had an 11 year career in the United States Secret Service, 8 of which I was a polygraph examiner, and have worked as an investigator with two major companies. I worked extensively with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task force and even was a coauthor in a paper describing the effectiveness of a technique called "The Tactical Polygraph" for handling investigations into the possession and distribution of child sexually abusive material (CSAM). I've taken the lessons and techniques that have been successful in these situations and developed them into trainings that I believe will add value to both law enforcement agencies and private companies seeking to improve the interview skills of their employees.

At this point in my career I have realized a few things..

• I am very proud of my past work with the ICAC Task Force and my specific polygraph work helping to combat child exploitation. I miss this work and this mission tremendously and I hope this business will provide me the opportunity to reengage with that community.
• I miss working with law enforcement in general. I've been a former federal agent for enough years to allow me to really understand what I liked about that profession and how bring some of that back into my life. I look forward to having the opportunity to teach and discuss interview methods with current law enforcement professionals and hopefully provide some useful techniques to help them do their very important job of gaining truthful information.
• I believe a lot of what I learned as an agent can be modified to work in a corporate setting. Effective interviewing is grounded in good communication skills. Corporate America needs better communication skills, whether it's during an interview as part of an internal investigation, or a manager trying to resolve a performance issue. I hope to be able to provide instruction that positions companies to leverage my experience to develop genuine, trust earning communication strategies.
• I am grateful for my network! I hope for those of you who have worked with me that I've been either helpful to you, or did my best to find you the help you needed. I can't thank you all enough for the kind words and advice I've received so far in the process of building this business, and would appreciate you helping me grow this business by either considering exploring my services or getting the word out to someone who might be interested.
• I am especially grateful to my current employer, specifically my boss and coworkers for supporting me and truly realizing this endeavor is how I grow professionally. I am very fortunate I haven't had to leave one great thing to find another...
