3D Modeling gives so much advantages
Launching Gantries are customized equipment. Customized equipment inheriting so many problems that standard product does not have.
In design and production they have higher chances of part clashing, problematic fitting etc, which to be gradually solved through out the design checking process til trial assembly in the factory before the final coating and shipment.
The communication among design team members or between buyer and seller is another huge task if only 2D drawings are to be used. Not everyone can visualize correctly with 2D drawings
3D modeling has the correct tools to solve all these basic problems hence contributing to a lot of saving in terms of time and cost
Since 2013, HCR start to implement 3D modeling by using "Solidworks" to design our equipment. The results are outstanding. The advantages of this software are as listed below
- It Shorten the conceptual development time. There is no need for the designer to draft out different views as in conventional method. They draw out the components in 3D modelling and pass it to the drafting personnel to develop the production drawings
- It Shorten the communication time among the team members; The 3D model itself conveys the message effectively
- It takes out totally mistake such as crashing parts. Eliminate the mistake in the design stage which ensure smoother and faster fabrication process
- The model itself is a perfect presentation to the buyer. It gives them a good idea what they are going to get. And if they have any comment, they can do it in advance
