Launching ANZ's 5th Reconciliation Action Plan

I'm on screen with Ken Adams, Karen Mundine, Ilana Atlas and Alex Burns.

On Friday I was thrilled to attend the formal launch event to celebrate our fifth Reconciliation Action Plan.

?A highlight for me was the Welcome to Country given by Wurundjeri Elder, Aunty Georgina Nicholson. We were also joined by our CEO @Shayne Elliott, and Sponsor of ANZ’s Reconciliation Network, @Ken Adams. We also heard from @Karen Mundine, CEO from @Reconciliation Australia; Board member @Ilana Atlas and @Alex Burns, chair of ANZ’s Ngarga Wangaddja – our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Employee Reference Group.?

?Our fifth RAP builds strongly from our purpose to shape a world where individuals and communities thrive.?As a bank we’re seeking to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our customers, people and communities, and help people make the most of their money throughout their lives.?In this RAP we're focused on commitments to improve economic participation of Australia’s First Nations people, such as employment opportunities and career progression within ANZ, support Indigenous businesses and organisations to build their capacity, and individuals in the broader community to achieve financial wellbeing and resilience.?

We're also looking beyond what we do directly as an organisation to how we can contribute through our broader circle of influence.?We are a large employer in Australia.?We have lots of employees.?We have lots of customers.?We partner with many organisations in Australia, both large and small, and so we recognise that comes with responsibility and an opportunity for us to be facilitating conversations and creating a better collective understanding as a nation.

Part of how we’re doing this is by building out Indigenous cultural awareness across our organisation; creating culturally safe spaces; and showing respect and combatting racism.

?#RAP #Reconciliation?
