Launch of the Urban Living Prototype in Garuga

Housing Finance Bank Joined Habitat for Humanity Uganda to launch the Urban Living prototype in Garuga, Entebbe Road.?

The launch was marked by a house handover ceremony graced by Hon. Judith Nabakooba, the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, and Jonathan Reckford, the CEO of Habitat for Humanity International.

The eco-friendly house was handed over to Kyasira Home of Hope, an orphanage whose former house was severely damaged by floods last year.?

Speaking at the event, Derrick Majanga, the bank's Marketing Officer, applauded Habitat for Humanity for its efforts in enabling home ownership and reaffirmed the bank's commitment to making affordable homeownership a reality.

"We are passionate about housing because we know that everyone needs a roof over their head. That's why we recently launched the Zimba Mpola ne Incremental Housing Loan because we know that most of us build in phases, and this product comes in handy for everyone," said Derrick Majanga.?

He also urged all stakeholders in the housing value chain to work together to tackle the current housing deficit, which is estimated at 2.4 million housing units.
