The launch of a new fund dedicated to the UK fashion and textile sector

The launch of the Innovate UK managed Textile Fund represents an exciting opportunity for UK based businesses in the UK fashion and textile sector to apply for up to ￡50K funding (up to 100% support) to help them develop innovative solutions to pressing industry challenges which include:

?? Novel Technologies

?? Sustainable Manufacturing

?? Sustainable Fashion Ecosystem

?? Diverse and Future-Proof Workforce

?? Green Growth

To be eligible for funding industrial partners must either have textile design or textile manufacturing as their core business OR have an innovative application of their technology / product that will add-value to these industries. More than one industrial partner can collaborate on an application.

The deadline for applications is 31st July 2024 (with the opportunity to submit a non-mandatory Expression of Interest by 30th June). Projects must last between four to six months with total eligible project costs of ￡50,000 or less. There will be one funding call and between 20-25 projects in total are expected to receive support, depending on demand. Projects must start by 1st October 2024 and complete not later than 31st March 2025.

?If you active in the sector but with a larger funding requirement, then an alternative to the Textile Fund, is the next round of the Innovate UK Smart Programme which closes on the 24th July 2024. Under this call up to ￡25 million has been ringfenced to support truly game-changing and world-leading ideas, designed for swift, successful commercialisation. Projects can range from 6 to 24 months with total costs of up to ￡1M.
