Laughing when you fall

Laughing when you fall

Sometimes you just have to have a laugh when you fall.?

Not because the fall is particularly pleasant but because if you allow yourself to take every fall or misstep too seriously?—?and indeed it is possible to be too serious for your own good?—?you quickly find yourself without energy to move forward.?

When you fall and immediately ridicule yourself (“how could you fall?!”), the sense of energy and good spirits leaving your body is palpable.?

When you fall and give yourself some grace, perhaps finding a glimmer of humor in it in the same manner we find humor from a clown slipping on the proverbial banana, you are in one motion draining your energy and in the next replenishing it.?

Laughter, the celebration of humor not just during but especially the most trying of challenges, is an underrated fuel source for resilience and endurance.?

Not to mention, it’s a good time.?
