Laugh Out Loud

Laugh Out Loud

January 24 is National Belly Laugh Day. What a fun thing to do! Did you know that really big belly laughs extend your life and make you healthier? You might be surprised to learn that the simple act of laughing every now and then can do wonders for your health, both emotionally and physically. With cold and flu season just around the corner, you’ll be pleased to know that a hearty dose of laughter can boost your immune system, increase the number of virus-killing cells in your bloodstream, reduce stress-related hormones and enhance your mental functioning – all without taking a single vitamin or spending a minute on the treadmill!

There are other awesome benefits to laughing more as well: Just hearing laughter helps put us in a good mood, creating a positive emotional climate in the home or office. Laughing signals to other humans that we’re interested in bonding and enhances cooperation among large groups.

Belly Laugh Day is an event that helps you realize how important laughter is. After all, a good laugh and a great sense of humor are two key elements to living a happy, healthy life. Or, as E.E. Cummings once said: “The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”

Something to Think About: There basically are no downsides to laughter, and we should attempt to do it freely and more often! Note: While laughing at your favorite sitcom or movie is better than nothing, the best quality laughter happens in the company of others. Go forth, and make someone laugh today!

Weekly Challenge: Find as many opportunities as possible to laugh as hard as possible at whatever happens to you this week.

Words of Wisdom: “A person who belly-laughs doesn't bellyache.” – Susan Thurman

At Giving Tree, we love a good laugh, and we love creating an environment where agents can be themselves, laugh out loud, and succeed at exceptional levels.

If you're ready to have more fun, and grow your business in a way that also allows for life balance, then give us a call.  We can help.
