Latinos will lift America

At LBAN/Latino Business Action Network, we just graduated Cohort 13 of our Business Scaling program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business . The 75 graduates now join our national network of our previous graduates, bringing our total LBAN alumni ecosystem to 949 Latino business owners across the country!

The LBAN mantra is “do business with each other, get business for each other.” An essential aspect of our program is this national network of mutually supportive Latino entrepreneurs. We encourage our alums to stay connected with each other and with us. In the process, as they grow, they lift each other, they lift their employees, and they lift their communities.??

While the reality remains that too many Latinos in America, like Americans of all ethnicities, suffer the privations of poverty - nevertheless, Latinos are ascending. This generation is more educated than their parents, and Latinos are driving new employee growth in almost all sectors of the economy, including most professions. Furthermore, about half the new companies in recent years were created by Latinos. Those companies are younger and consequently smaller than the average company but are growing faster. Latino-owned businesses are increasing employment by 54% vs. 10% for White-owned businesses. In fact, Latinos in the U.S. already represent an economy larger than $2.75 Trillion!

At LBAN we embody the Stanford Graduate School of Business motto: Change Lives, Change Organizations, Change the World. This growing social capital of Latino professionals, particularly around entrepreneurship, is the precursor to greater economic and political capital. As the Latino population grows and, more importantly, continues to ascend in all the professions, including as owners of more and larger businesses, they will grow the American economy by trillions of additional dollars and in the process, they will lift America.

Latino success is the new American mainstream.
