TUTORIAL

Are you using a tool like incident.io to manage your incidents–not your Camunda incidents, of course, but, rather, incidents in your processes? Are you up for the Camunda SpaceTraders Challenge, a programmable fleet-management game played through a headless API? Our team developed this community project during our Camunda Hack Days 2023 and you're invited to start playing today. Getting started is straightforward: sign up, buy a ship, navigate to an asteroid field, and then sell and deliver goods to try and fulfill your contract.?

Use caution though: You might just level up your BPMN modeling skills while on your way to the next SpaceTraders level! Learn more on our forum.

??? Mark Your Calendars

Last month, we announced a new initiative, focused on creating a more consistent and intuitive API experience for Camunda users.?

One of our first steps towards a unified Camunda 8 API is building a comprehensive REST API for Zeebe. This API will provide 3?? categories of endpoints for users:?

  • User task management
  • Migrated gRPC endpoints
  • GET endpoints for entities.?

Read more about this effort in our blog post, Streamlining Camunda APIs: Building a Zeebe REST API.?

Our ultimate goal is for the Zeebe API to cover all aspects of process management while the Operate and Tasklist APIs support data querying. To shift user task state management from Tasklist to Zeebe, we have introduced the following types:?

  • User task as job work
  • Zeebe user task implementation

To ease migration, the Tasklist UI will seamlessly and simultaneously support both implementations. Learn more in our blog post, Streamlining Camunda APIs: Managing User Tasks in Zeebe.

These are just our very first steps so stay tuned for more updates!??
