Cobalt: essential?part of the critical minerals agenda

Director General Dinah McLeod shares her thoughts on a busy Q1, including learnings from the Future Minerals Forum and Mining Indaba, and the latest cobalt market report.

The conference also featured an inter-ministerial summit of 45 mining ministers who discussed how to cooperate on strategic materials, and the prospects for a future global mineral strategy. A huge amount of resource is being devoted to a geological survey of Saudi Arabia itself, and KSA’s commitment to mapping its own mineral resources underscores its dual ambition to be both a global and a local critical minerals player.?
