Ocean Network Express Finalises EU Allowances
Ocean Network Express (ONE) is pleased to announce its inaugural European Union Allowances (EUA) transaction with 法国巴黎银行 .
Commencing January 1st, 2024, under the regulations of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), the maritime transport industry has been included and shipping companies are mandated to monitor, report, and verify their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually and this data will be utilised to determine the EUA that they need to surrender within a compliance period. Non-compliance with these regulations will result in penalties and denial of entry to EU/EEA member states.
Texas Agreement to Boost Green Trade
On Wednesday, March 13th, the UK formalised a trade agreement with Texas, aimed at enhancing commercial and investment relations between the two entities. Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch will host Texas Governor Greg Abbott in London for the signing ceremony.
Texas boasts the second-largest economy among US states, with a GDP reaching £1.9 trillion in 2022 – surpassing that of Italy and Canada. Consequently, this trade pact marks the UK’s most economically significant agreement with a US state to date.
