The Draghi report is finally out!?

There’s good news for research, as the landmark report joins the calls for a €200 billion budget for FP10. This is big because the former Italian prime minister’s report will feed into the EU’s upcoming competitiveness strategy.??

For research and innovation, probably the most radical Draghi suggestion is that the EU create an innovation agency modelled on the American Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa).?

Overall, research lobbies are happy to see the prominence given to research, but there is disagreement over proposed reforms to EU instruments.?

In other news, 2024 marks two decades of the pan-European jobs and mobility platform Euraxess. Sarah Drumm investigates if the scheme has helped close the east-west knowledge gap.?
