In a news article, Reed emphasised the urgency of defending nature, with plans to meet Environment Act targets, including halting species decline by 2030 and reducing air and water pollution. The review responds to concerns from watchdogs and environmental groups about the country's slow progress and aims to enhance collaboration with civil society and businesses.

- If you're thinking of installing or using a wood burning stove in your home this winter, please consider the pollution caused to your indoor environment and also the wider risks to where we live. A study published in the Guardian has revealed that wood and coal burning homes in the UK now produce more particle air pollution than the vehicles on our roads. We need to increase our awareness of this pollution to help change behaviour and reduce emissions.
- A study conducted by the Study of Cognition, Adolescents and Mobile Phones (SCAMP) across Greater London has shown that higher exposure to air and noise pollution is linked to worsened mental development during adolescence.
