The latest news from QCoal Foundation
We were delighted to welcome several of our donors for an exclusive tour of the Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section (RFDS) Base and the new RFDS Aeromedical Training Academy in Bundaberg recently.
This facility is home to the only full-motion Beechcraft King Air B350/360 Fusion flight training simulator outside the United States. It is expected to contribute over $20 million to Bundaberg’s local economy and create around 40 full-time equivalent jobs. QCoal Foundation is proud to be the Founding Partner of the RFDS Aeromedical Training Academy.
Experiencing the simulator in action was an incredible privilege, and we are excited about the training and commercial opportunities this project will bring to the RFDS and the region. Thank you to all who joined us and to those who made the day possible.
Stadium of Hope
This month our partners for the Re-ACT CQ program, Act for Kids, launched their most important campaign yet - Stadium of Hope.
Every year, between 45,000 and 50,000 children in Australia are confirmed to have experienced abuse and neglect. That’s a whole stadium.
You can buy your virtual seat in the Stadium of Hope here for just $10 and show your support.
Every seat represents a chance for a brighter future—because child protection is everyone’s business.
Thank You to the Team at Byerwen

Rumble Roadshow - Black's Beach
We are thrilled to support Pacific Action Sports' Rumble Roadshow with a Community Spirit grant! With a mission to promote and grow skateboarding in Australia, the Rumble Roadshow is a fantastic initiative that brings both an introduction to the sport and pro-skateboarding competitions to regional and remote communities in Queensland.
Our funding supports the Black's Beach event at Camilleri Skate Park in Mackay on September 19 from 3 PM, featuring demos, clinics, and opportunities to win some great merchandise.
Olympian Haylie Powell, a multiple Rumble Champion who has been part of the program since age 9, will also be in attendance! We love initiatives like Rumble that give kids in regional and remote communities access to sports, ignite passions, and create pathways to excel.
Meteor's FC Kicking Goals
With the rising cost of living, Meteors Football Club in Gladstone remains committed to providing fee-free sports for their members.
Our Community Spirit grant helped the club honour this commitment by funding new senior goals, and we’re thrilled to hear that the team benefiting from them this season has made it to the semi-finals!
We’re confident these new goals will continue to benefit many teams in the future.
The QCoal Foundation Scholarship is a $30,000 scholarship awarded annually to a student from regional Queensland who plans to study at James Cook University . Applications open on 1 October. Head here to learn more.
