JASE WAGNER PROMOTED TO CEO OF COMPEER FINANCIAL

Congratulations to MBOLD Steering Team member, Jase Wagner, on being selected as the next CEO of Compeer Financial. As the third largest cooperative in the U.S. Farm Credit System, Compeer provides loans and financial services to farms and rural businesses in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.?

Currently Compeer’s CFO, Jase says, “The opportunity to serve our member-owners in agriculture and rural America in this capacity is the gift of a lifetime. As the agriculture industry continues to evolve, I believe Compeer Financial is well positioned to serve our clients and rural communities in even more innovative and impactful ways.”

MBOLD also extends our heartfelt thanks to Rod Hebrink, Compeer’s current CEO who is retiring this winter. As a member of MBOLD’s Executive Council, Rod played a key role in championing MBOLD’s efforts to advance food and ag entrepreneurship across our region. Jase, we look forward to you joining MBOLD’s Executive Council and to more collaboration ahead.

CIRCULARITY + THE NEW CLIMATE ECONOMY

This summer, MBOLD?announced?our initiative to create a circular economy for flexible film in the Upper Midwest. Our recycling partner,?Myplas USA, has begun the build-out of a state-of-the-art film recycling plant in Rogers, MN, providing new, regionally appropriate opportunities to recycle pallet wrap, single-use shopping bags and many other film products. MBOLD members are looking at opportunities to increase film recycling and build demand for recycled resin in a range of packaging products. Our initiative has also gained?national recognition?by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.

Now we’re pleased to share the latest in our video series highlighting perspectives from key members of the initiative. In this video he explores how our circular economy initiative is advancing a new climate economy where strategies to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions become baked into how our region does business.

The?Minnesota Ag & Food Summit, hosted by AgriGrowth, is just around the corner.?The event includes a “State of the State of Minnesota Agriculture” address by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and sessions ranging from “Agri-food Supply Chains Re-imagined” to animal-disease threats, small-farm issues, new food-product introductions and the latest analysis of the future of our region’s agricultural economy.?

MBOLD will also unveil a new video on our collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, Hormel, Target and General Mills to scale-up carbon- and water-credit opportunities.
