Don't fall asleep on the job!??
It's all too easy now for people to assume AI is literally their digital clone. But if you're using AI for copywriting or translation, watch out for errors and make sure you fact-check the work produced. I always advocate using a human specialist, whether it is for translation or copywriting, who knows the strengths and weaknesses of AI and can use it as a time-saving tool to help with simple tasks, but also understands its shortcomings as well as its strengths.
I read an interesting article in People Matters that suggested overreliance on AI can result in people falling asleep on the job!??
"The paper substantiated prior research, such as Harvard's Dell'Acqua, which revealed that placing excessive trust in AI's competence can result in a perilous overreliance on it, ultimately leading to subpar outcomes, such as falling asleep."

I continue to support Little Lifesavers, a Sussex-based charity that goes into schools and delivers essential CPR and choking response training.
What have I been up to?
I started the month with a leisure trip to HMS Belfast which is a former British Navy light cruiser and was deployed in WWI and Korea before being permanently moored as a floating museum on the River Thames by London Bridge. I often see it when I am travelling to and from networking events on either side of London Bridge so it was interesting to step aboard and find out about what life was like onboard for the crew.?
My networking in London also included a visit to The Doyle Club, which is a property and construction-focused networking group that meets monthly in the City of London. I also visited another similar group that meets right by London Bridge station this month run by Alex Butterworth founder of the Property Connect Networking group.
In September, I began my tenure as VP of the BNI Language Power Team which has been a lot of hard work but really rewarding. I continued my work of helping to form a new BNI group in London's Guildhall and did a spot of local networking in Horsham. The month ended with an interesting BNI St Pauls London social event at Otherworld VR in Victoria.
BNI Global Language Power Team
We had a new member join our group this month from India and we're looking forward to welcoming another new member next month from Thailand. Right now we're working on increasing our visibility online by creating social media accounts to promote what we do and a new website.
We welcome visitors from BNI and outside of BNI who trade internationally and require translation and interpreting services and other language services. If you'd like to visit us we meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m. London time.
We'd love to paint our map below ??red so if you are a language services provider and a member of BNI please reach out to find out how you can join our formidable team.
Did you know...

What have I learnt this month?
There's a lot more to podcasting than you think!
From what equipment to use to who to invite and how to grow a following and much more besides! I attended a fantastic online podcasting masterclass organised and facilitated by Lizzie Allen Phillips founder and owner of IWant2Network which was really insightful about the wonderful world of podcasting.
The class was delivered by Martin Lambert who runs the successful Talking Town ITFC podcast which is for fans of Ipswich Town FC.
Shout out to…
Ben Hewson and his team at The Bear pub in Horsham for transforming a dark and dingy but into a bright, spacious go-to town centre venue.

'Spare' by Prince Harry.
Why? Because it has been ghostwritten by Pulitzer Prize winner J. R. Moehringer, one of the highest-paid ghostwriters in the world and a master storyteller.??
We've all heard Prince Harry's story told through the eyes of the press but there are always two sides to every story and, as the author, Harry gets to tell his story woven into a compelling and beautiful narrative created by his ghostwriter.
Highlight of the month
Getting to the end of the month and finally having a week's holiday in Cyprus to celebrate my 50th birthday!
