"Alex, I take what's on paper very seriously. If I hire someone whose resume doesn’t check all the boxes and it doesn’t work out, my boss will say, ‘Well, it didn’t look right on paper.’ But if I hire someone who does look right on paper and it doesn’t work out, it’s fine—we made a safe bet.”
