AML news update: Dubai enforces Dh55,000 limit on real estate cash transactions
Dubai has introduced a new law capping cash transactions for real estate sales at Dh55,000 to enhance accountability and combat money laundering. Any cash transfer exceeding this amount must now be conducted via banking platforms, reducing reliance on in-person cash transactions. Currently, 20% of all real estate deals in Dubai involve cash exchanges.
This regulation aims to improve KYC and AML procedures, supporting international standards for financial transparency and security. Major real estate firms are already adopting the new limit, setting a compliance standard for others. While both buyers and developers must adapt to new transaction methods, this regulation is expected to attract more foreign investment and create a healthier real estate market in Dubai.
Upcoming UAE Pass integration for enhanced ID verification
We are excited to introduce the upcoming integration of UAE Pass, marking a significant advancement in identity verification for Idenfo Direct. This enhancement offers a streamlined method for validating identities, boosting efficiency in AML/KYC processes.
UAE Pass provides a unified electronic identity for UAE citizens, residents, and visitors, enhancing reliability and security for various online services.
For Idenfo Direct users, this integration brings numerous benefits. Users can securely confirm customer identities during onboarding, seamlessly create accounts, and sign in using UAE Pass, thereby enhancing overall risk management.
Moreover, the integration ensures regulatory compliance, particularly in AML and KYC processes, while simultaneously boosting customer satisfaction. This combined effort enhances operational efficiency, streamlines processes, and fortifies regulatory adherence.
