Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is known for its commitment to innovation and technological advancements in the construction equipment industry. Here are some key innovations from Volvo CE:
New Volvo EC37 and ECR40 Excavators
Volvo CE is bringing superior stability, outstanding comfort and increased productivity with the introduction of two new compact excavators – the 3.5-ton EC37 and 4-ton ECR40. The dynamic duo offer the same easy-to-operate functionality with superior stability and long-lasting performance.
Boasting smooth operation and easy servicing, as well as spaciousness and comfort thanks to a new modern cab, these compact excavators are set to deliver high breakout force and lifting capabilities across a multitude of tasks. The new models replace the phased-out EC35D, ECR35D and ECR40D excavators.
The models benefit from a new elongated undercarriage which enables them to maintain optimum stability in almost any environment, thanks to a much better weight balance provided by the longer contact between the tracks and the ground. High system pressure ensures an impressive traction force when climbing gradients or travelling over rough terrain.
The customizable hydraulics flow setting and work modes for a large range of attachments and applications, it is now easier than ever to set up the machine for any task required, leading to better machine performance and increased uptime.
The new EC37?and ECR40?excavators are equipped with the same spacious, ergonomic and silent cab that has been introduced on the ECR50?and ECR58?excavators – considered one of the best cabs on the market with a modern exterior design. It provides a more pleasant working environment, outstanding visibility and all the comfort required to reduce fatigue, boost productivity and allow operators to remain focused on completing a full day’s work.
The new compact models boast 50-hour greasing intervals, easily accessed service points, wide opening engine and rear hoods and a very high fuel tank capacity of 70?litres, ensuring uptime is kept to a maximum.
First Electric machine in Japan
Volvo CE unveiled two new electric machines for the Japanese market, the first of their kind in the country. The ECR25?Electric Compact Excavator is a 2.6-2.8?t capacity machine with a 22.3?kN breakout force. It has an onboard charger for general charging, an external quick charger (optional for indoor/outdoor specifications), and a 20-kWh battery array, allowing for 3?– 4?hours of work per charge. The machines come with an integrated onboard, standard charger, and a range of optional, standalone fast chargers for both indoor and outdoor use.
It’s a stylish and modern-looking machine that is perfect for urban areas. In addition, as the electric machines are CO2?free. Volvo CE is committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2040?as part of our commitment to Science Based Targets.
