VISION COMPONENTS AT LOGIMAT: NEW CAMERAS AND VISION SYSTEMS FOR INTRALOGISTICS
The VC MIPI IMX900?global shutter camera offers a 3.2-megapixel resolution and high light sensitivity up to the infrared range. The ultra-compact camera module features long-term availability, is immediately purchasable and is ideally suited for intralogistics applications. VC will also showcase a new version of its FPGA accelerator VC Power SoM, that simplifies the integration of image processing. It enables 3D image capture at up to 120?Hertz.
The VC MIPI IMX900?camera module is suitable for numerous applications in intralogistics and other industrial areas. With a sensor diagonal of just 5.8?mm, the ultra-compact module can be integrated easily and flexibly.
Another highlight for embedded vision in intralogistics is the FPGA accelerator board VC Power SoM. The tiny component, measuring just 24?mm x 28?mm, can be easily integrated into the design of an electronic system and handles the complex pre-processing of image data.
Vision Components will be demonstrating the perfect interaction of MIPI cameras with processor boards, the VC Power SoM and other components and software relating to the MIPI-CSI-2?interface.
SIEMENS INTRODUCES ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST INNOVATIVE CIRCUIT PROTECTION DEVICES
Siemens has developed one of the world’s most innovative circuit protection devices with cutting-edge electronic switching technology. SENTRON ECPD (Electronic Circuit Protection Device) electronically switches off circuit faults if errors occur and, if necessary, trips the mechanical isolating contact downstream. Up to now, disconnection was handled purely through electro-mechanical elements.
SENTRON ECPD enables completely new approaches in electrical planning, maximizing safety, flexibility and delivering enormous space and energy savings compared to conventional solutions.
For the first time, it is possible to perform detailed condition monitoring of the applications at the final circuit level. This substantially increases availability and operational reliability. The large volume of measurement data enables the detection of irregularities and deviations and creates a reliable planning basis for preventive maintenance. SENTRON ECPD can be easily integrated into higher-level systems by using the open Modbus TCP standard.
SENTRON ECPD makes it possible to carry out remote diagnostics and remote switching during normal operation as well as in the event of a fault. This offers significant benefits, especially for remote applications without direct on-site support. In addition, it is easier to localize and identify faults by differentiating the cause of the fault.
ZF OPENS FIRST ZERO-EMISSION FACTORY IN KLá?TEREC, CZECH REPUBLIC
ZF is launching its first zero-emission factory, part of the Electrified Powertrain Technology division, following a renovation period of less than a year and a half, aiming to achieve climate neutrality by 2040.
The plant will be used as the blueprint for all ZF plants worldwide. The technology company is gradually shifting to sustainably generated energy at all locations, increasing the energy efficiency of processes, electrifying a significant proportion of its products and using recycled materials.
The plant's fossil fuel-dependent gas heating system has been replaced by heat pumps, reducing the plant's overall annual heating costs by 50%. During colder months, the plant uses the natural cold of the outside air (free cooling) to cool down the technology within the facility. Various measures for improved thermal insulation and heat recovery round off this local climate concept.

KROHNE REACHES IMPORTANT MILESTONE IN ETHERNET-APL TECHNOLOGY
Since December 2023, KROHNE Ethernet-APL demonstrators have been undergoing practical testing with selected customers.
In December 2023, KROHNE made Ethernet-APL demo devices available to selected customers. This step marks an important milestone in the company's own Ethernet APL development project for various sensor types.
Ethernet-APL technology is a revolution in the process industry: for the first time, a high data rate (10?Mbit/s) is combined with intrinsic safety for the field level. In addition, the technology enables a two-wire operation including power supply. KROHNE was a founding member of the Ethernet-APL consortium in 2018?and has thus actively promoted the technical design of the standard.
