The renowned Data Economy Data Centre Colocation M&A Tracker is also back, with transactions since 2010 now amounting to $104bn, as 2019 officially becomes a record-breaking year for the amount of Dollars spent on acquisitions.
Business and finance news media platform Data Economy has released its 14th edition of the Data Economy Magazine today in Austin in partnership with BroadGroup’s Edge Global Congress 2019.
The stellar edition focuses on Climate Change and how the data centre sector is being impacted and what the industry is doing and can do better to help curb carbon emissions.
The magazine features, on the frontpage, an exclusive interview with Jean-Pascal Tricoire, the “Climate Guardian”. The Schneider Electric’s CEO and Chairman talks through the state of the energy sector and data centres and what businesses can do to deaccelerate global warming.
The Data Economy team has also sat down for an exclusive chat with Nobel Prize winner Konstantin Novoselov who talks through graphene and how graphene could not only become one of data centre operators’ major climate weapon, but also a better material for resilience, optimisation and cost-saving.
In another in-depth interview, Greenpeace talks about what data centres need to be doing and what the organisation envisions for the future of the sector.
The newsroom has also looked at other Climate-related topics on how to become 100% green, how to build a green Edge, who should be paying for the Edge, how to prepare data centres for extreme weather events, and more.
This edition’s Location Focus is Brazil, where the team has found that Samba is not the only greatest export this Latin America country has to offer.
The Data Economy Climate Change Magazine has also released for the first time the “Climate 50”, a biannual global list of 50 data centre and cloud personalities who are leading the debate and adoption of technologies and/or methodologies across business strategy.
This edition also includes a data centre climate quiz, a special feature on responding to natural disasters using IT infrastructure, and the top Edge applications that are set to change the computing game.
Jo?o Marques Lima, founder and editor-in-chief, Data Economy, said: “This top-notch edition could not be timelier as Climate Change becomes not only the common ground in politics, business and investment, but also humanity’s greatest challenge yet. This edition of the Data Economy Magazine is our small contribution towards the fight against arguably the worst crisis the world has ever faced.
“This magazine includes several exclusives that will undoubtedly generate a debate in the data centre space in the coming months. The next edition of the magazine will be released on December 03 in Copenhagen to coincide with Datacloud Nordic.”
