?? Boehringer Ingelheim's Animal Health Division grows by 6.2% in 2021. Breaking down by animal species, Pets represent 58% of the division's net sales worldwide, with €2.5 billion recorded. The company recorded net sales of 4.3 billion euros globally in 2021, a growth of 6.2% compared to 2020 (4.1 billion euros). The antiparasitic for dogs, NexGard, was the leader, with 916 million euros, and growth of 16.6% over 2020 (804 million euros). Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health announced that the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine has granted conditional approval of Vetmedin-CA1 (pimobendan), for the delay of onset of congestive heart failure in dogs with Stage B2 preclinical myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD), a form of chronic valvular heart disease in dogs.?The original Vetmedin (pimobendan) – approved for the management of the signs of mild, moderate, or severe congestive heart failure in dogs due to MMVD or dilated cardiomyopathy – and Vetmedin-CA1 will be marketed separately with two separate labels, and each drug has a unique application number.
