NVIDIA Releases Small Language Model With State-of-the-Art Accuracy

NVIDIA has introduced a new small language model named Mistral-NeMo-Minitron-8B-Base. It is small enough to run on your laptop but powerful enough to lead across nine major benchmarks.

The model is optimized for low latency, ensuring faster responses for users and higher computational efficiency in production.??

Microsoft AI Releases Phi 3.5 mini

Microsoft has just released a trio of new open-source models in their Phi-3.5 series. These models are impressively outperforming some larger models from Meta, Mistral, and Google in key areas.

Phi-3.5 Mini - with 3.82 billion parameters, is all about speed and efficiency. It’s perfect for tasks requiring quick reasoning, such as coding and solving math problems.

Phi-3.5 MoE - uses a "Mixture of Experts" approach, integrating multiple specialized models into one.

Phi-3.5 Vision - watch for anything involving images and text, whether it’s summarizing videos, analyzing charts, or interpreting images.

AI Model Revolutionizes Disease Detection Through Cough Analysis

The latest innovation by Google Research, Health Acoustic Representations (HeAR), is a bioacoustic AI model designed to help researchers tap into the rich information hidden in the sounds our bodies make.

HeAR has been trained on an immense dataset of 300 million audio samples, with 100 million focused solely on coughs.

This allows the model to recognize patterns that may signal health issues, potentially even before other symptoms appear.

Fine-Tuning Now Available for GPT-4

GPT-4o fine-tuning is available to all developers on paid usage tiers through OpenAI's fine-tuning dashboard.?

Training costs are set at $25 per million tokens, with inference priced at $3.75 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens.

To kick off the new feature, OpenAI is offering up to 1 million tokens per day for free to use on fine-tuning GPT-4o. This is a great opportunity for developers to experiment with custom models without the usual costs.

New and Serious Threat: The Rise of Prompt Injection Attacks

For instance, a hacker could trick a chatbot into revealing sensitive information by inputting a simple command like, "Ignore all previous instructions."
