Late Working or "Late Sitting"

Late Working or "Late Sitting"

Readers, how many of you have ever thought this: Do you have a work life because you have a family or do you have a family because you have a work life? Confused eh? As Dr. Abdul Kalam said: Always leave office on time. Interest of your clients is important, so is your family.

Rarely do we ever realise that with every extra hour that we INVEST in our offices, we don't get the return. Instead it's a complete loss! Why would a sane man invest his time and energy when he knows the rate of return is negative. Trading family time or fun time or even sleep time for extra office hours cannot be justified by any means.

In many organisations, late SITTING culture prevails. Unfortunately, if you are a part of such an organisation, you need to read articles on how to say NO in organisations to save yourself from getting trapped in never ending working hours and ruining all the fun of life. There is a considerable difference between working late and sitting late. By sitting late you are just exhibiting your manager that, you are not efficient enough to complete your task in given hours. Nothing else!

A research conducted says: Your output lessens after your work more than 50 hours/week, decreases if you work more than 55 hours/week, and no extra productivity is there after working for 70 hours/week. Adopt a rather humanitarian approach towards your work rather than being a so called workaholic. It's anything but an honourable attribute.

Be an honourable man and give the quality time to your family. Because at the end all that matters is our family, nothing else.
