Late January (early February) Updates: Celebrating a Platinum Anniversary!

Welcome to this month's installment of In The Know, a newsletter designed to make sure you never miss a thing and to help nonprofit professionals exchange ideas and learn from one another to unlock the full potential of the sector.


The first month of the new year and our 70th anniversary is done. And we have many exciting changes in the year ahead! If you read last year's final Marketing AdVents magazine, or the page grab in this newsletter, you know that Karin Kirchoff is our President and is preceding over the first year of new 3-year strategic plan. We have a new vision and three BIG goals; and as she says, there's no stopping now! A previous newsletter listed the goals (and they are on our About Us page), but it doesn't hurt to reiterate our focus for this year.

  1. Attract and retain more marketing and fundraising practitioners from nonprofit and social impact organizations to expand our collective impact.
  2. Profitably expand our current geographic region into select markets through a strong brand, programming, and membership.
  3. Establish effective and efficient governance, operational, and financial practices that position DMAW for growth.

You'll see these goals in everything we do from our educational programs, to how we market them, how membership and the association itself evolves.
