Last year, last week and the future ...

I have had in interesting year or so since leaving Dell EMC, some of you will have seen that I have spent 5 months of it in plaster as my right ankle need two operations to repair a tendon, finally requiring a transplant from my hamstring ... very pleased to be on the mend!! 

Work wise I have been keeping myself busy with my commitments in Welsh Rugby and my role as a NED with the WRU as well as a host of engagements, through my business TG-XL, across a variety of industries from finance to software and engineering to physiotherapy. Perhaps the most significant role was as interim COO for a payments start up in a major bank and I am delighted to be joining their advisory board on an ongoing basis. Of course, all of the projects were fascinating in their own way and it has been great to work with some terrific teams helping them scale up and make progress on their journey to 'going large' ... to all the entrepreneurs and business leaders who I have worked with over the past year, thank you.

However, I always intended to go back to tech and large corporate and am delighted that the right opportunity has presented itself and am really excited to be joining #DCC as MD of their Technology Division. Last week I spent two days with the fantastic UK #Exertis team and am looking forward to meeting some more of the wider DCC community in Dublin and Gothenburg in the coming week.

DCC are a FTSE100 entity with an amazing portfolio and it's a real privilege to be joining them and leading the technology business.

The future is now the future is DCC.
