Last Week’s Highlights: Reservoirs, Steep Inclines and City Scenery

What a week it's been! From road-closed 10k's to challenging trails and countryside routes, RunThrough?delivered a fantastic variety of races across the UK. Here’s a look back at the excitement from last week’s events:

26th October - RunThrough Trails Carsington Water Half Marathon & 10k

As we moved into the weekend, trail enthusiasts flocked to Carsington Water for the Half Marathon and 10k events. The reservoir and surrounding hills provided a breathtaking backdrop for runners as they tackled the challenging trails. Trail enthusiasts still have the opportunity to run this event in 2024 as it will return on December 7th, entry is available here.

26th October - RunThrough Trails Beat Box Hill 5k, 10k, 25k & 50k

One of the toughest challenges of the week, the Beat Box Hill event, tested runners with distances from 5k to 50k on the trails of Box Hill in Surrey. Known for its steep inclines and awe-inspiring views, Box Hill didn’t disappoint, pushing runners to their limits. Beat Box Hill was the final instalment of the 2024 RunThrough Trails SUMMIT Series, this event was as beautiful as it was challenging, rewarding runners with spectacular autumnal views across the Surrey Hills.

27th October - Macclesfield Running Festival

The Macclesfield Running Festival on Sunday brought runners together in the heart of Cheshire for a memorable race-day experience. With 5k, 10k, and half marathon options, participants enjoyed a blend of town and countryside views along the course. The festival’s friendly and supportive atmosphere welcomed runners of all abilities, creating an inspiring environment that encouraged everyone to push their limits.

27th October - Crystal Palace 5k, 10k, Half Marathon & Junior's

Meanwhile, over at Crystal Palace, runners of all ages took on the 5k, 10k, half marathon, and junior races through one of London’s most historic parks. The route wound through lush pathways and open green spaces, giving participants a chance to enjoy the beautiful park scenery while challenging themselves on the course. The range of distances made it a fantastic day for families and solo runners alike, with the lively race atmosphere and cheering crowds adding to the experience. Finishing in such an iconic setting was the perfect close to a rewarding race day for all involved.

27th October - Haltemprice 10k

We wrapped up the week at the Haltemprice 10k, a community-driven event that offered a welcoming atmosphere and picturesque route. The course featured gentle undulations and plenty of support from local crowds, making it a fantastic race. This event captured the spirit of community running, with participants of all ages and abilities coming together to enjoy a crisp, autumn morning race.
