Ever so slightly late, nonetheless it was an action packed week last week at Purple Shoots in which we saw?#networking?aplenty,?#borrowers?to be celebrated and?#selfreliantgroups?sharing their skills and products!

- Despite the much-needed rain, we had a fantastic business networking event this week, hosted by Purple Shoots and our amazing partners. The iconic Zip World Tower, nestled in the South Wales Valleys, provided the perfect backdrop for a lively and fun-filled gathering. Together, we explored creative ways to enhance Zip World Tower's marketing, showcasing the power of collaboration and innovation. Congratulations to our Director of Operations and Partnerships, Emma Musgrave, for winning the 'Tower of Strength' book with her brilliant idea of a super-hero day! A heartfelt thank you to our gracious hosts, Alun Wade from Business Wales, and our partners: RCT Business Club, Welsh ICE, Cwmpas, Christine Chapman Career Coaching, Beth Winter MP, Vikki Howells MS, and Aberdare Golf Club. Your support and participation made this event truly remarkable.
- In other exciting news, our CAT Team SRG's summer fete at St Marks Community Centre in Cheltenham on Sat 22nd July is already sold out! The table top sale promises to be a vibrant and bustling event!
- Our strictly crafters SRG members have been busy exploring various markets, showcasing their talents in Stockwood Bristol, Shepton Mallett and the Lacock craft fair!
We've been able to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our talented borrowers!
- Lucy Hay of Art on Scarves recently won the prestigious "New Product Homewares, Clothing & Fashion Accessories" category at Glee, Birmingham. Her recycled bottle scarves caught the attention of industry experts, showcasing her artistic talent and commitment to sustainability. Additionally, Lucy's nomination by the IOD (Institute of Directors) for Best Start-Up Director in Wales is a testament to her remarkable leadership and creativity.
- Ruth from Scentsations Cottage, known as the "Bwthyn Shop," received the esteemed title of "Best Artisan Home Fragrance Gifts Retailer - South Wales" at Lux Life's Perfect Gifts Awards 2023. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
- The Makerss recently launched their new Tatty Ted needle felting kit, accompanied by an exciting competition. Get your creative juices flowing and join in on the fun!
- Mark your calendars! Our lending pop-up stand will be at the Business EXPO in Abergavenny on Thursday, 6th July, from 10 am to 2 pm. Swing by for a chat and discover how we can support your entrepreneurial dreams.
- Lastly, Chris, Karen, and Richard, had a wonderful time connecting with past and potential borrowers at Crosby Collective in Scunthorpe. It's always inspiring to witness the impact of our support firsthand. We met with Tony to see how he was getting on with his 'man with a van' business, before then meeting with two potential new borrowers, each feeling empowered and excited to begin their own entrepreneurial journey!
