Last week was one of those weeks that should be remembered at SEC Newgate

Last week end was one of those weeks that should be remembered at SEC Newgate. Our teams have been engaged in two very different yet similarly significant projects in Italy and UK with our local agencies delivering world-class communications around sensational initiatives.

On Friday our colleagues Newgate in London, with specialist skills from across the agency, worked pro bono to launch the Remember Me campaign on behalf of the St Paul’s Cathedral.  Remember Me is an online book of remembrance for people of all faiths and none who have died as a result of COVID-19.  Newgate amplified the campaign across all key British broadcast, print and media.   In the first 24 hours after launch, it attracted almost 700 pieces of media coverage, 6.5 million social media impressions and was the lead story on the national TV news and the front page of a leading national newspaper.  It received a powerful supporting video message from HRH the Prince of Wales, amongst many others

More or less at the same time in Milan a multidisciplinary team from SEC Newgate Italy ran and managed the Architecture Marathon “Architects for future” on behalf of the National Architects’ Register. The day long, online streaming event collected more than 300 hundred speeches and interventions from across the whole framework of architecture professionals, companies, media and politics to discuss new scenarios of urban planning after the tremendous impacts of the pandemic. At the peak, 12,840 people were in attendance in the online forum. It was a relentless effort to marry quality content with timely broadcasting and community engagement in a day long discussion that our team managed superbly, as publicly acknowledged by the Register itself.

Different in focus, geography and aim, yet these two initiatives demonstrate how immersed SEC Newgate is in the digital revolution and the way in which our profession can use it, more than ever before, to impact the lives of thousands of stakeholders, organizations, citizens.

Congratulations to all that were engaged. I am very proud of our continuously evolving capabilities at global and local levels.
