Last Week in IT: (6/10-6/14): Pax8 Beyond Was Luda + Top BCDR Option? + Deals Of The Week Are Back.

There has been so much said about the Pax8 Beyond event, as always, if you're looking to professional recaps, I'd encourage you to read Rich Freeman and Jay McBain 's thoughts.

Things I LOVED

? Rob Rae always finds way to bring the community together no matter where he is. It was obvious with the influx of APAC and EMEA partners I saw at the event, if it's a Rob show, the MSPs come. 2,500 attendees this year!

? Ryan Walsh , I enjoy the energy and enthusiasm you bring to this event. How can people not get pumped up when this guy is on stage.

? Gaylord Hotels for their improvements to the Denver Gaylord Rockies Resort. They gutted the lower-level area which really only had the value of sitting around and expanded into a much bigger bar/social area.

A few notes though: when you're hosting 2 major conferences, they need to do something to facilitate more food options, 1-hour+ waits are brutal at a conference. (Hotel problem, not Pax8) Bring in a hot dog stand or pizza food truck outside, that will kill and give you tons of revenue. IT people, late at night = lots of food and money. I guess we really needed George Bardissi to order pizzas for everyone this year.

? I know shows are about education, but it's also about fun. The final evenings party hit on all cylinders with another appearance from the Spazmatics, (what does this group have on Rob, seems like they have a life-long contract for events he hosts ??).

And we all knew a surprise performance was to be had, perhaps Ludacris didn't get the memo, don't hang out on the lazy river if you don't want everyone to know about the surprise. He had the crowd "Stand Up" from all the different "Area Codes" that they flew in from and told us to our face to "Move B*tch" and to "Get Back" when we got too close. The crowd truly "Acted a Fool" and caused the entire room to shake, like literally, the entire floor was bouncing so much I thought we were going to collapse on the Palo Alto folks below us.

? The community aspect, they invite people in the MSP community who work tirelessness to make the industry better and give them voices at the event both in sessions but also in community/media row. Folks like Kathleen Martin , Dan Tomaszewski , Marvin Bee , Paco Lebron and Rick Smith were able to host their community podcasts and interact with attendees at the event.

? Finally, in a rare compliment to the Denver Airport, whatever changes they made, it seems to be working, the lines worked much more efficiently this go around.
