The Last Three Items on His Birthday Wish List Were Unexpected…

Welcome to the inaugural edition of my monthly newsletter, LinkedIn Content Creation Inspiration ~ Delightful Thoughts. My purpose is to give you content ideas so that you can create LinkedIn posts your network will want to read.

Each month I plan to share with you a story (one example of a content creation idea), an inspirational or motivational quote, and a positive affirmation.

Content creation idea: Parable

What’s a parable?

Following is an example of a parable. One of the best ways to connect with people is to create emotion! And one of the best ways to create emotion is to tell a PARABLE which is a simple story that illustrates a powerful lesson. People love stories.

A parable is an idea for content creation. If you’re looking for something to write about, tell about an experience that has impacted you – that has changed you. Everyone has a story to share.

Stories are powerful and relatable – so share your heart and let others see what has made a difference in ???your life.

The last three items on his birthday wish list were unexpected…

Four-year-old Ryder found a #4 candle in the cupboard.?This prompted him to ask for a cake for his fifth birthday – even though it was months away.

His mommy wisely didn’t argue, but told him to make a list and they would go shopping later. Thrilled, he found a piece of paper and a red crayon and proceeded to make his list.

He knew his letters and he knew what he wanted to put on the list – he just needed help with spelling the words. So he asked for my help.

The first three items on the list were expected: sugar, cake mix, and balloons. Because those words took the whole page, he flipped it over to continue.

The list on the second page, however, wasn’t expected: he included wishes from his heart that brought tears to my eyes. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I spelled the words he asked for: someone, lots, love.

With a huge smile on his face, he exclaimed, “I want lots of someones to come to my party! I love them!”

And with a heartfelt hug, I agreed with him. I took pictures of his “birthday cake list” to remind myself and others what we all really need: someone to share love with.

Heart wishes from a child are like a huge celebration. They honor the essence of life: having “love” and “someone” – and “lots” of both!

Hi Val, your newsletter is both visually beautiful and awe inspiring. No, the flower does not compete or compare with the flower next to it. Also depending on their characteristics they may appeal differently to different people.
