The Last Stand of Sword and Sorcery
Author L. Sprague De Camp once coined the term "heroic fantasy" for tales about heroes battling evil either upon some imaginary world or in earth's distant past or future. Well, that would lump Catching Fire (yuk!)with The Illiad. Actually, heroic fantasy can be divided into two distinct genres. There's epic fantasy, the pretentious multi-volume works that can't seem to actually tell a story the Game of Thrones is the latest example). Then there's sword-and-sorcery, swashbuckling yarns about rugged characters fighting villains, set against a fantasy backdrop. Epic fantasy, unfortunately, is very much alive, sword-and-sorcery is nearly dead.
That is until Cullen the Outlander. The sequel to "The Sword of Cullen" is just out on Amazon. It's harrowing, violent, and thrilling. No flute-playing elves, no wise old wizards, no sugar-plum fairies, just a man with a sword fighting some of those most horrible creatures ever conceived. Even Conan wouldn't last too long in this world. S&S is back with a terrible vengeance!
Order it now! Kindle only--hey, it's the wave of the future.
