The Last Pain My Body Could Take…

So many of my coaching clients tell me that working together helps them come back home to themselves.

They often say it with a tearful, heart-felt cry of joy, pain and even grief.

Detaching from our emotions or disowning our bodies is deeply painful, even if we are too numb to know what’s going on.

When we come back to ourselves, we often feel it ALL–joy for the reconnection, pain for what took place, and grief for the time lost.?

How do we even get here? So estranged from ourselves and our bodies? And how do we come back to this place inside us we call home and reconnect to the core of who we are?

My own disconnection happened when I was only 13 years old.

As a child, I was in immense pain and fear, ?witnessing my mother's manic attacks.?

The fear, the sadness, the pain–the emotions were so big, so heavy, so overwhelming for my young nervous system to integrate.?

When I tried to share what was going on at home with others in my life–especially friends my own age–I was rejected. The heaviness was too much for them.?

I felt abandoned and isolated, with no one to turn to. After I tearfully confided in one of the only friends I had left about the agony I was experiencing because of all of the challenges with my mom…

…. she walked out on me, unable to bear the burden of my suffering.?

It was the last pain my body could take.?

I stopped sharing my truth and started hiding, masking my pain, to protect myself.?

I shut down.?

To survive, I cut off my emotions wherever I could. I numbed them so I could get by. I just could not be in my body and feel any more pain. ?

And the price was high.?

That’s when the suicidal thoughts began. I pretended everything was OK when it was not, and I lived with them for over a decade.?

I could not bear my own reality. I couldn’t be with my feelings. I had no skills and zero emotional resilience. I was surviving…. barely.?

Eventually, after 25 years of searching, healing, working with guides all over the world, consistently engaging in somatic practices, and being witnessed in my pain, I understood how to use the wisdom of my body to heal from the trauma and unprocessed emotions.

And I discovered how to come back home to myself and my body.?

This journey led me to create a unique somatic coaching method, one rooted in emotional resilience and somatic practices.?

In this method, the healing process begins with being emotionally received through the power of witnessing.?

It’s what I needed most when I was dealing with the deep pain, grief, and trauma in my life. I needed to be deeply felt.

And it’s what helps my clients come back home so profoundly to themselves.

Then we continue to embodiment practices that help us shift how we live life by changing how we embody ourselves.

I’ve found–in my own experience and the experience of my clients–that sometimes the people in our lives aren't equipped to support us in the way we truly need.?

In coaching, I found a space to bring my full self, to be witnessed and receive dedicated support in my healing journey.

And it’s what I offer my clients in?one-on-one Somatic Intelligence Coaching–a sacred space where they are truly received.?

Whether you seek a sanctuary to share your deepest emotions, your full self, or the support of someone who has the capacity to receive you without judgment, somatic coaching may be the transformative space you’ve been yearning for.?

If you desire to be fully seen, supported, and embraced on your journey back home to yourself, with individualized support guiding you on your path to emotional resilience, I invite you to?apply for a Discovery call today.?

Thanks for sharing! Many people experience disconnection from themselves and their emotions for various reasons, when faced with overwhelming emotions or situations, especially at a young age, it can be common for individuals. I believe that needing help professionally should be part of the norm. Many people like me, have accepted that we cannot start healing on our own. I'm grateful for coaches like you who have the passion to help and support us in our journey. Long way... but getting there. ??

Coaching can play such a vital role in uncovering the somatic imprint that is holding us back from playing full out for our dream, to experience a greater sense of freedom in our lives.
