About last night...
When I got my first job out of college I couldn't believe that a company was willing to pay me to write code for a living. Fast forward 13 years later and I'm having an even harder time believing that code I was directly involved with could be nominated for an award, let alone a sports emmy.
The ceremony was held last night and it wasn't at Lincoln Center, I wasn't dressed up and we didn't win (#cancelredbull), but it was truly a special moment for me.
It takes a village so I wanted to call out:
Jeremy Braff for inviting me to join his hackthon team that started it all and for the freedom to build what I needed to build. We may have lost to a time tracking system, but I think we got the last laugh.
Marc Squire for being an absolute grinder on the product side and always rocking the quad-box.
Chris Lee and Sid Sethupathi for working through the night to get our MVP ready for the product pitch.
Paul Lester, Jonathan Brandwein, Emily Voytek and Vlad Tyshkevich for their countless contributions to the project and for putting up with my code review comments.
Greg Cain and Rob Engel for giving us Statcast in the first place.
Nick Nolan, Dan Clark, Padraic Boyle, Dan Blanchard and the team at boolean.tv for wrangling all the feeds and making this thing possible in the first place.
Mike Siano and Brett Kaplan for believing in us and teaching me what a crossfade is.
Justin Erenkrantz for pushing us to be faster and of course letting us know everytime we missed a home run.
If you want to see more check out our submission video here and of course might as well hop over to https://www.mlb.com/careers
Looking forward to building the next one with y'all.
