Last Night I Fell In Love With Twitter

I'm not sure how it happened exactly...one minute I was saying goodnight to my love and the next...I was in an alternate universe...the rest of my world melted away. I had logged into...
Twitter...the cocktail party of the internet.
As a social media consultant I am on twitter all the time. I manage Twitter accounts for clients, have lists of those I follow, and have made great personal and professional connections. It was fun, I saw the value, but never loved the platform. That all changed last night.
I read a few pieces of great content, retweeted amazing information, and had a few conversations with some fascinating and very well connected people. With each click and retweet I fell deeper and deeper in love. It is clear why kids have migrated to Twitter - fast paced quick messages with humor, wit, sarcasm and information.
All jokes aside, I will say it is quite hard to contain me, a gregarious gal, to 140 characters - but that is part of the fun and challenge. Add to it my obsession with the Pocket app and ability to tweet info out as I read it on the internet from Google Apps, well, I've got it all going on in the Twitterverse.
As a small business owner, you should have a Twitter presence...and here is why:
- All the big wigs in your field are on Twitter, easy to find, and very very to follow. It isn't hard to connect with them and start conversations.
- There is great content on Twitter. Timely, relevant to your expertise, and some is just gut- busting funny.
- Tweeters may not be on other social media sites. Middle aged men, teens and early 20's, and college students are addicted to Twitter.
- You can follow and maybe even Tweet with Kim K. Hey, we all need a little more Kim K in our lives.
So please, follow me on Twitter (@drjennylynn) and get your own party started. Start tweeting relevant information, your blog posts (you are blogging aren't you?), inspirational quotes, funny information...and before you know it...you will fall in love as well.
