Last night, ChatGPT blew my tiny mind (aka Using ChatGPT to create Google Sheets formula)

TL;DR Using ChatGPT to write Google Sheets (and Excel) formula is remarkable

About a six weeks ago I was using ChatGPT to write songs about Brexit in the style of Abba, entertaining but not very useful. Last night I was looking at this export of some stock sales data wanting to do a couple of things;

I wanted to separate the name of the stock in column C so that I could easily look it up and get the current price. I’m vaguely aware of LEFT and RIGHT commands and I’m sure I could have eventually google-stumbled my way into the solution.?

Instead I asked ChatGPT to help

ChatGPT answered

Mind blown! And then because I’m lazy I then immediately asked it to..

Next I wanted to pull out the number of shares sold

And so on - within ~15mins I had sorted my data out and was impressed enough to want to write this smol article the following morning!
