The Last Lap: Senior Year at Carolina

It's officially the Last Lap – one more year as a student in Chapel Hill and then I’m off to see what the world holds. The reality of being a senior at Carolina has finally hit me and I’m feeling ALL of the emotions that come with it. I’m grateful to be surrounded by my friends, enjoying the final gameday season, taking courses I’ve been excited about for the longest time, and the spontaneous senior year festivities. But at the same time, I am already wrestling with the uncertainty of post-grad life – what happens from here? Who will I be after I graduate? Who am I?

Looking back on my time at Carolina, I’ve always made the effort to stay involved – through clubs, leadership roles, Greek life, and work experiences. But I’ve also been constantly caught up in this fast-paced environment. It’s so easy to lose yourself when constantly on the go, overcommitting because you’re afraid to lose out on a new opportunity. As much as I love all the experiences I’ve been involved in while in college, I’ve been craving moments to just pause and catch my breath. I want to appreciate the time I have left here and discover who I am beyond my role as a student.

And that’s where this blog comes in. As I go through my senior year, I want to focus on becoming the best version of myself. I aim to fully embrace my final year, not just as a student, but as a friend, family member, and even stranger to those I meet. Over this semester, I’ll be documenting my personal growth journey as I navigate senior year. My goal is to make an effort each week to do something for my own growth! I hope to try new things, be kinder to myself, reconnect with old passions I’ve drifted from, be a good friend, and give back to others.?

I invite you all to follow along this journey with me. Documenting and sharing my thoughts is definitely out of my comfort zone – I usually avoid talking about myself, so I guess you could say this counts as my first effort toward personal growth! This definitely won't be easy, but I’m excited to see where it takes me!?
