My Superpower is Connecting People and Products In the Maritime Shipping Industry | Podcast Host and Producer | Public Speaker, Moderator and Raconteur
Hey everyone!
In the most recent episode of The Last Dinosaur, I sat down with Nick Clarke , CEO of Greywing . Greywing is a digital platform that provides clients with greater situational awareness of their fleet and personnel
Nick talked about how COVID provided a unique opportunity for his idea to be proven.?This was considering owners needing to figure out how to get crew off in ports that allowed crew change, with airports that could also flights home.?What I learned was that they used other platforms, in particular airline ticket warehousing ones, with an open source API that allowed them to build what their clients needed.?
It was that idea of collaboration, on which his product is built.?Nick and I explore that topic a bit on the podcast, especially in the context of shipping, where there is still a fair amount of resistance for companies to collaborate.?
We also talked about how Singapore has become a hotbed of digital startups, due in large part to the government making it easy to do so in terms of visas and funding.?
Finally, Nick ends with a fascinating statistic about the percentage of companies with fewer than 20 ships and what that means to entrepreneurs, adoption of technology and breaking into the shipping market.
I hope you liked this episode of The Last Dinosaur.

Wishing you fair winds and following seas - Chris
